The event industry´s most glamorous hotel brands joined forces to support safe houses in London for abused women.

Their event GLAM24 (Global Luxury Aligned for Mice) at Battersea Power Station raised more than £14,795, including a raffle and an online auction, which ran until March 20, for Ella´s safe houses in London.

The collaboration of luxury hotel brands Accor, Anantara, Belmond, Corinthia, Dorchester Collection, Four Seasons, Kempinski, Rocco Forte, Oetker Collection, Rosewood, Shangri-la and The Doyle Collection, worked in partnership with meetings industry foundation Meeting Needs for the third year.

Ella’s provides safe housing and community support “to help unlock freedom among women who have survived trafficking and exploitation.” Most women remain at Ella´s for around 12 months until they are ready and able to live independently. The charity was chosen by the organisers of Glam24 from a host of projects that Meeting Needs have supported over many years.

Meeting Needs vice chair Lene Corgan said: “This was a perfect partnership for us and for the hotel companies who rely so heavily on professional women to support those who are experiencing trauma in their lives and need protection. We are very grateful to all the hotel companies for their enthusiastic participation and the fantastic fund-raising for Meeting Needs.”
