Our very own Board member and well-known industry figure Richard Waddington is embarking on a series of cycling challenge events which will see him clock up over 5,000 miles and include a least 10 rides of 100 miles or more. Richard is taking on some of the most gruelling cycling events open to amateurs that the UK has to offer and at the same time raising much needed cash for Meeting Needs.

Richard said “Those of you who know me will know that I’m a keen cyclist and I like a bit of a challenge. Each year I enter one or two cycling events but have never attempted anything on this scale before. In addition to being a Meeting Needs Board Member I’m also Chair of Micebook, who have recently become a Charity Partner, and they have linked their fundraising to a specific Meeting Needs supported Charity “Clowns Without Boarders” and I’m putting myself through this to support this worthy cause”

Having recently completed the Prudential Ride London 100 he has got a taste of what is in store, the ride coincided with the break in the heatwave and was surprisingly wet and cold and on top of that he had to deal no less than three punctures!

You can support Richard by going to his VirginMoneyGiving page and make a donation. To find out more about the very special work of “Clowns Without Boarders” visit their website at clownswithoutborders.org.uk

Other events on Richards calendar include; the 140 mile “Dragon Ride” in Wales, “Faversham Spin” which is 110 miles, “Mad Hatter Malvern” a 100 mile route around the Malvern Hills, “Hot Cross Bun Brighton” and the “Goodwood Velo 100”.
