Event industry foundation Meeting Needs has donated a £5000 grant to fund almost half the cost of a community bus in Ghana for the Akwaaba Foundation. The bus will safely take children to school, transport teams to sports training and matches, organise educational excursions and deliver community programmes across Accra in Ghana.
More than 300 children will benefit from the provision of the additional bus. The Akwaaba Foundation is a UK registered charity whose mission is simple: to brighten the future for the children they work with by providing them with the resources, support and opportunities they need to succeed.
Founder Jordan Palmer said: “Through our various programmes, we strive to create lasting change in the lives of young people while fostering a sense of community and growth. A dedicated Akwaaba Foundation bus is not simply a vehicle; it is a lifeline that connects children and young people to education, sports, training, and life-changing opportunities. Reliable transportation enables us to safely take children to school, transport teams to sports training and matches, organise educational excursions, and deliver community programmes across Accra.”
