Future of Taru is a UK Registered Charity dedicated to providing education and food to children in Taru, Kenya. The charity aims to ensure local children receive quality education and a healthy Kenyan staple meal each day, supporting their development in a happy and open environment.
The charity is led by a dedicated board of volunteer trustees and is supported by a growing number of sponsors and supporters. One of these, Grand Hotel York’s Director of Sales Louise Copley, directed an application to event industry charity Meeting Needs for a grant of £5000 to complete development of a specific classroom at the Taru Secondary School. The plan is to use the standalone classroom exclusively for a chemistry laboratory as required by the Kenyan Education Authority.
Meeting Needs chair Lene Corgan said: “We are delighted to partner with an event industry professional like Louise and help her deliver a meaningful improvement to education facilities through the charity she supports. If you have a charity close to your heart you would like us to support, let us know.”
