Event industry charity foundation Meeting Needs is helping 15 schools in Nairobi, Kenya, this year by providing equipment improvement finance for items like desks and wi-fi linked to better children´s rights.

Working with Tushinde Childrens Trust, the projects provides family support to help vulnerable children thrive in informal settlements, aiming to keep families together and children off the streets. The Meeting Needs grant of just £5000 is administrated by Tushinde and the schools are drawing down cash to fund new desks, wi-fi and other items so long as corporal punishment is not employed.

At Jericho School, for example, the grant has installed CCTV to improve child safety by enabling staff to monitor the comings and goings of people on the school premises.
