Josh Willmott of TFI Lodestar is making a comeback after only beginning his running career, as he explains in our series featuring our runners and walkers in The Royal Parks Half Marathon:
“Having taken up running a bit more enthusiastically during lockdown, I completed my first marathon in October 2021 in Liverpool. Since then, for various reasons and excuses my own running journey has fallen off a bit of a cliff. So when Kate Conway got in touch about the Royal Parks Half Marathon for Meeting Needs it was the perfect push for me to get back into running while also helping to do some good for the amazing charity partners.
“Personally, running has always been my favourite ‘me’ time. When things are busy and the chaos of life and work feels like it’s too much, getting out on a run with a podcast on just helps me reset.
“I’m slightly ashamed to say that whilst I’d heard of Meeting Needs, I wasn’t entirely aware of the work the foundation does to support small charities. One of my favourite things about getting involved in the half marathon this year is learning more about how donations are used to support different local communities.”
The Royal Parks Half Marathon is a marvellous event industry gathering in London´s beautiful parks, starting and finishing in Hyde Park.
