The Silverstone Wing Conference & Exhibition Centre hosted a unique, industry, charity cycle ride in May, as 5 teams of event industry luminaries took to the track in an endurance cycle ride fundraiser.
Utilising the 3.66-mile F1 circuit for the race was a test of endurance to see which team could cover the greatest distance in 3 hours. The five teams were headed up by leading event industry figures; Trevor Foley of tfconnect riding for Events for Namuwongo, Laura Moody of Blondefish riding for Walk Tall, Nick Grecian of Gallowglass representing Howards Way Walk and Richard Waddington from Meeting Needs. The fifth team from Silverstone itself, were also riding for Meeting Needs.
Paul Southern Managing Director Central Hall Westminster, Chris Foy of Visit Britain, Philip Atkins from Off to Work and Chris McQue for Worldwide Events, made up the other members of the Meeting Needs (Works!!) Team who raised an impressive £900 and the Silverstone Team managed a respectable £700.There is still time to donate by going to their VirginMoneyGiving page here. A BIG THANK YOU to all that took part.
