The partnership between the M&IT Awards Dinner and event industry foundation Meeting Needs delivered another bumper fund-raising night on Friday with more than £26,000 raised for charity projects.
More than 700 guests attended the glittering evening at JW Marriott Grosvenor House London hosted by celebrity comedienne Katherine Ryan and sponsored by IHG Hotels & Resorts. A raffle with prizes donated by Leonardo Hotels, Barceló La Nucia, Fairmont Monte Carlo and Grand Hotel Huis ter Duin added to the income from an online auction totalling £26,246 announced on the night.
A beneficiary of funding from Meeting Needs – a support group for Down´s Syndrome parents called 21&Co – shared their experience of help from Meeting Needs via Georgie Devereaux and Marie Claire Lakin from 21&Co who gave an inspirational presentation on the impact of Meeting Needs´s support.
Meeting Needs chair Lene Corgan said: “It was a fantastically generous display from all – Northstar and M&IT who made it happen, JW Marriott Grosvenor House who host and sponsor, the prize donors and all those who bought tickets and participated in the auction. It is a wonderful example of what happens when our industry joins forces. The cash we raised will fund several projects in the UK and overseas to make many lives better. Many thanks to all!”
