Eclipse, one of our newest Charity Partners, has nearly raised £6,000 for Meeting Needs. A team of ten, from the creative event production company, took part in the gruelling Dulux Trade Revolution cycle ride last weekend.

Starting in London the 300km route takes in iconic London landmarks, hidden green lanes, picturesque villages, testing climbs, incredible views and sweeping descents. Held over two days, with an overnight in a tent, the route is a complete 360º around London, with over 2,500 riders taking part it is regarded as one of the UK’s greatest two-day cycle rides.

Robin Purslow, MD of Eclipse and member of the team said “We are delighted to be raising funds for Meeting Needs, the meeting and event industry’s own charity. They helped us secure the places on the ride and I’m told that the funds we have raised may help support two projects this year. I’d like to thank the Eclipse Team of riders and all the many people that supported them with donations through their VirginMoneyGiving pages”.

Meeting Needs works with its Charity Partners in various fundraising initiatives to support over thirty projects each year, usually small charities that find it hard to gain funding from mainstream sources. Jennifer Jenkins, Chair of Meeting Needs, commented “We are truly delighted by this “home-grown” effort by Robin and the Eclipse team, Meeting Needs was set up fourteen years ago to channel the MICE industries fundraising efforts to worthy causes and to support people much less fortunate than ourselves, this achievement typifies the kind of spirit that we know exists within our industry and we happily champion”

Robin’s VirginMoneyGiving site will be open for a few more days if you would like to show your appreciation, make a donation and help top the £6,000 mark.
