Event industry foundation Meeting Needs has partnered with the Association of British Professional Conference Organisers (ABPCO) to raise cash for mindfulness charity Mind Over Mountains.
The occasion was ABPCO´s annual awards dinner at Manchester Central and the choice of charity was made by retiring director Heather Lishman, who is an avid hiker. Mind Over Mountains is a charity offering professional mental fitness support bringing together walking in nature, mindfulness and time with experienced wellbeing counsellors in an unhurried, unpressured setting.
The event raised £1,985 in raffle ticket sales so raised a total of £3,970 using the Meeting Needs match funding process, which was given to Alex Staniforth from Mind Over Mountains, pictured with Caroline Windsor, a trustee of Meeting Needs.
Caroline said: “Thanks to Heather, ABPCO has been a charity partner of Meeting Needs for many years and we really appreciate this support so when we heard that Heather was planning to take early retirement, the Trustees decided to do something special to mark the occasion”.
Prizes were donated by Hotelplan, The Midland Hotel Manchester, The Mercure Manchester Piccadilly, The Hilton Garden Inn at Emirates Old Trafford, Leonardo Hotels and Alex Staniforth.
