A platoon of brave event professionals are nursing sore muscles today after completing the Royal Parks Half Marathon yesterday and raising £26,070.29 for event industry foundation Meeting Needs.

The entire team of 36 runners joined 16,000 others and completed the course of London’s royal parks without injury despite a longer walk than planned to get to the start line because the Piccadilly Line was closed!

Fastest to complete was Thibault Le Guezec of Shangri-La The Shard, London, in just 1:22:19. How does he do it? Simple – he runs to work and back every day!

For other members of the team it was a tougher challenge! Katy Brewster of Principal Global Events was only 16 seconds shy of two hours but the star of the show was North Star´s Charlotte Bliss who generated the biggest slice of sponsorship with her haul of £2530, closely followed by Freddie Foden of XSEM with £1642, Hotel Republic´s Chris Xenophontos with £1627 and Maris Kuklis with £1341.

Event organiser Kate Conway said: “I’ve been managing the Meeting Needs team since 2016 and still enjoy meeting all our runners who spend so much time training and, of course, fundraising on our behalf.  We’re already taking names for 2026, so if you fancy joining a team of fellow event professionals, please email me on kconway@meetingneeds.org.uk

Meeting Needs chair Lene Corgan said: “We were delighted to once again field a wonderful team of industry runners in the RPHM. Their dedication, support and great fundraising efforts means so much and will go a long way to help change lives. I am also grateful to my team of volunteers for putting this together.”
