Event industry charity Meeting Needs has donated £2,500 as part of a matched funding project supported by the Fast Forward 15 University Challenge project delivered by Be More Dandelion Essex CIC to help adults in need of support in Colchester. Be More Dandelion Essex CIC provides support and community for survivors of domestic abuse through wellbeing programmes and initiatives.

This project will deliver a short, accessible community movement programme providing free, trauma-aware movement sessions for adults experiencing hardship, distress or social isolation due to their social or economic circumstances.

The programme will run over 6–8 weeks in a local, accessible community venue in Colchester and are designed to be low-pressure, welcoming and inclusive, offering participants a safe space to move, reconnect, and experience calm and connection without expectation to share personal information.

Meeting Needs chair Lene Corgan said: “We undertake a lot of projects around the world but we like to help those in need in the UK, too. This is an excellent example of how modest funding can improve the lives of UK citizens who are struggling with emotional and psychological difficulties.”
