Over £14,000 has been raised for Meeting Needs by MICE industry professionals who took part in the Royal Parks Half marathon on Sunday 8th October.

16 runners from different companies from across the Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Events industry completed the run in aid of Meeting Needs. The fastest runner in the group was Michael McCabe from the Fresh Group who completed the 13.1-mile route in 1 hour 38 minutes.

Jennifer Jenkins, chair of Meeting Needs, said: “We are hugely grateful to all our runners who trained incredibly hard and did a great job of raising sponsorship. The money raised will enable us to continue to help those in need both in the UK and beyond, and we already have a couple of charities lined up to benefit directly from this.”

Kate Conway(pictured with the runners), our Executive Board Member and Fundraising Liaison said: “Our runners have done a fantastic job and the money they have raised provides a fantastic boost to our funding pot and ensures that as many charities as possible can continue to benefit from the work that we do.”

The Meeting Needs runners were represented the following companies: Japan National Tourism Organization, Hong Kong Tourism Board, CAT, Fresh Group, Mermaid Theatre, Fusion, FMI, Worldspan, Innov8 Conference Services, Rosewood Hotels, Belmond, First Global Events, EVCO and  Inspirational Venues and Events.

The Royal Parks Half takes in some of the capital’s most famous landmarks and four of London’s eight Royal Parks – Hyde Park, The Green Park, St James’s Park and Kensington Gardens.
