Event industry charity Meeting Needs has funded day trips for 200 children and young people with special needs, living in poor socio-economic conditions in the UK.
Working with the Luton-based Happy Days Children’s charity, the grant of £5000 will help educate and lift the morale of these young people with visits to theatres and theme parks.
Happy Days’ Ryan Sinclair said: “The day trips are great morale boosters for the children. They come home with a more positive attitude which invariably sparks off an immediate improvement in their physical and mental well-being. Their personal and educational development is enhanced.”
Meeting Needs immediate past-chair Jenny Jenkins said: “We have worked with Happy Days for many years because they do such a great job in helping disadvantaged children.”
This year Meeting Needs will celebrate its 15th anniversary and has recently passed the £1 million mark in terms of donations to worthy causes.
