Our thanks to Charity Partner, FMI, whose clever scheme to recycle mobile telephones is raising money for the projects that we support. We are impressed with their lateral thinking in respect of fundraising as The Old Stock Charity Challenge sees FMI collect any manufacturers’ old stock of mobiles and tablets for a handling fee of 15 per cent of their total recycle value, and then return the amount raised through recycling contacts directly to the manufacturer before donating 15 per cent of that fee to MIMN. Recycled items are either reused in other countries or repurposed to reduce the amount that goes to landfill.
