You don´t need to be a distance runner to take part in the Royal Parks Half Marathon – you don´t even need to be an athlete. Many of the 16,000 participants walk it because it is a wonderful autumn Sunday morning with the roads closed and a way to raise money for charity while soaking up the London parks atmosphere, starting and finishing in Hyde Park.

Event industry foundation Meeting Needs has been entering a team every year for a decade and 2025 is going to be a year of expansion. We are looking for event industry professionals to join our team – last year we were 40 strong – to enjoy the camaraderie and networking and help us raise cash for Meeting Needs through sponsorship. Will you join us? We would love to have you in the team! And since the ballot for entries has now closed, this might be your only route in!

In a way, the less fit you are, the better because the easier it will before you to raise cash! Or you could use it as a way to get fit. Whatever the motivation, please join the Meeting Needs team here.

These are words from some previous participants:

“It has become a regular event in my diary every October which I look forward to and the sense of community in the team as we train for the event and our lovely friendly Whatsapp group is so uplifting and inspiring – I highly recommend it if you are part of our wonderful industry!”

Layla Warfield

“The Royal Parks is such a lovely event with everyone in great spirits and so supportive of runners of all types and skill level. The cause is even better; Meeting Needs provides regular updates on where our donations are going and how we are making an impact around the world.”

Ryan Grieve

“Running on behalf of Meeting Needs means the fundraising is being donated around the world to small projects and charities that would otherwise really struggle without the big marketing and comms budgets of other larger charities.”
