Project Description
Happy Days is a UK based charity providing holidays, residential trips, day trips and visiting theatre performances for children & young people who have disabilities or life limiting conditions.
Meeting Needs provided a grant to fund day trips for children with special needs living in poor socio-economic conditions. 430 children from areas throughout the UK including Lichfield, South Shields, Sheffield, Wakefield, and Belfast enjoyed day trips and experiences that will support development of their sensory awareness and improve social skills, in addition to being fun and exciting days out. The day trips included visits to:
- Drayton Manor theme park
- Flamingo Land
- Cannon Hall Farm
- Barnsley
- Tropical Butterfly House
- The Theatre Royal to see “Jack and the Beanstalk”
