Project Description
InterCare Medical Aid for Africa has been providing medical aid consignments to Africa for the past 46 years. When airlines began closing down their routes to Africa due to the Covid-19 pandemic, InterCare was unable to ship their medical supplies to the most vulnerable regions of Africa.
A grant from Meeting Needs helped InterCare to reorganise their efforts and they are continuing to fulfil their mission by allowing partner health units to order healthcare goods and medicines from in-country distributors. Beneficiaries in Malawi will receive supplies in September and October 2020 and the project will support Tanzania in November and December. InterCare is also continuing to deliver a large volume of aid at a low cost by using shipping containers, with a new container scheduled to arrive in Sierra Leone in December.
