Event industry foundation Meeting Needs is providing a vehicle with medicines and other provisions for victims of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
With a grant of £7,500 from Meeting Needs, a group of Volunteers called Mighty Convoy will drive to Ukraine, distribute the contents of the vehicle and then leave it behind to be used as an ambulance by Christian Medical Association of Ukraine. Medical fixators and consumables are included in the delivery.
This delivery follows others already operated by Might Convoy during the Ukraine conflict. One of their volunteer drivers, Helen Cornwell-Lee (pictured), said: “We were thrilled to hear of the grant of £7,500 to Mighty Convoy for the purchase of a vehicle for use as an ambulance in Ukraine. We have been busy with fundraising events and Mighty Convoy will be running more convoys next month. I hope the war ends soon but in the meantime every vehicle is needed”.
Meeting Needs Chair Chris Parnham said: “This is an unusual activity for Meeting Needs to be involved in, but there are many civilian victims of this dreadful conflict and we felt we wanted to help these volunteers support some of those victims.”
