Jennifer Jenkins, MD of MCI UK, will step into a new role as chair of the sector’s dedicated charity Meetings Industry Meeting Needs (MIMN).

Previously responsible for beneficiary liaison, Jenkins received the unanimous support of her fellow volunteers at the charity’s AGM after Martin Lewis, a co-founder of Meeting Needs, stepped down from the chair after 13 years.

“Meeting Needs is a fantastic organisation that makes a real difference to people in need and I have derived huge satisfaction from my role thus far,” she said. “Now we need to appoint someone to take on my beneficiary liaison responsibilities.”

Other members of the Executive Committee elected were: Charles Blowfield, Hon Treasurer; Sue O’Gorman, Hon Secretary; Samme Allen, Kate Conway, David Hackett, Tim Bassett, Tim Chudley and Richard Waddington.

Outgoing chair Lewis added: “Jennifer is the perfect candidate to take Meeting Needs to the next stage of its development because of her exceptional management experience, market knowledge, contacts and presence in the market. I will remain a volunteer on the Executive Committee to assist with the communications strategy and look forward to working with her and supporting her.”
